Vintage kimono silk top

This top is upcycled from tasteful Shibori kimono.

Shibori is a traditional Japanese tie-dye technique which makes tiny bumps on a fabric surface. (Each wee white circles you can see on the fabric are tied and bumpy parts)

Artisans in the past tied every single bumps(circles) by hands. Not to mention it's extremely time consuming work and it needs high level of skills. We can't even imagine how long it took to finish up a whole fabric for one kimono.

This shibori top also feathers a dolman sleeve style, which is also known as batwing or kimono tops, are characterised by their wide, sloping sleeves that are seamlessly integrated with the bodice of the garment. This unique sleeve style creates a relaxed, draped silhouette that flatters a variety of body types.

Dear customers,
Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are imported from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1980s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes, colour fade, old smell etc. but they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have. I hope you enjoy and love the beauty of vintage kimono silks including their histories to be embraced.
Thank you for supporting my small handmade business.

*Vintage condition is described by three levels.
Excellent (no major faults), Very good (with some faults but not disturbing) , Good (with some faults that might be disturbing)
