This lovely top is made from a vintage Shibori silk kimono. Shibori is a traditional Japanese tie-dye technique which makes tiny bumps on a fabric surface as you can see on the 4th photo. Artisans in the past tied every single bumps by hands. Not to mention it's extremely time consuming work and it needs high level of skills. We can't even imagine how long it took to finish up a whole fabric for one kimono.
I feel so blessed that I can use such a precious fabric for my garments and I can't thank enough to artisans who created the original fabric.
For its sleeves and side panels I used a lining of the same kimono which is also beautifully patterned silk.
