Vintage Shibori silk dress
Bumpy suface of the Shibori fabric is so soft on your skin and the dress is light like a feather.
Shibori is a traditional Japanese tie-dye technique which makes tiny bumps on a fabric surface. (Each wee white circles you can see on the fabric are tied and become bumpy)
Artisans in the past tied every single bumps(circles) by hands. Not to mention it's extremely time consuming work and it needs high level of skills. We can't even imagine how long it took to finish up a whole fabric for one kimono.

Dear customers,
Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are imported from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1980s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes and colour fade etc. but they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have. I hope you enjoy and love the beauty of vintage kimono silks including their histories to be embraced.
Thank you for supporting my small handmade business.
*Vintage condition is described by three levels.
Excellent (no obvious faults), Very good (with some faults but not disturbing) , Good (with some faults that might be disturbing)
