Vintage kimono shibori silk dress

Shibori is a traditional Japanese tie-dye technique which makes tiny bumps on a fabric surface. Artisans in the past tied every single bumps by hands. Not to mention it's extremely time consuming work and it needs high level of skills. We can't even imagine how long it took to finish up a whole fabric for one kimono.
I feel so blessed that I can use such a precious fabric for my garments and I can't thank enough to artisans who created the original fabric.

This flattering dress is upcycled from a vintage shibori obi for men. I put the shibori part to the top and that would fit perfectly and beautifully with your bust thanks to Shibori's strechness.

I hope you enjoy feeling an amazing Shibori texture on your own skin with this lovely dress.

Has slits on both side. I will adjust the length upon your preference.
The color is navy. Photos might not show the real color.

One of a kind.

Dear customers,
Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are imported from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1950s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes and colour fade etc. but they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have. I hope you enjoy and love the beauty of vintage kimono silks including their histories to be embraced.
Thank you for supporting my small handmade business.

*Vintage condition is described by three levels.
Excellent (no obvious faults), Very good (with some faults but not disturbing) , Good (with some faults that might be disturbing)
